BITTERLY RESENTED

IN THE UNITED STATES SINKING OF THE TANKER I. C. WHITE. SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT'S POLICY. (Received This Day, 1.35 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 5. Administration leaders consider that the sinking of the I, C. White has materially increased Congressional support for any changes in the Neutrality Act President Roosevelt may suggest. Supporters of the President’s foreign policy described the sinking as another link in the chain justifying the revision or even the outright repeal of the Neutrality Act. The sinking of the I. C. White,, they said, shows that there is no respect for ships 'anywhere. It might have been sunk in the Potomac River. It is now slated that 34 members of the I. C. White’s crew were rescued.
