ALIGNMENT AGAINST NAZIS. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S REPORTED HOPE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 3. One of President Roosevelt’s closest and best informed political associates told the United Press that diplomatic developments were shaping towards an alignment of World Catholicism against the Nazis. President Roosevelt is hopeful of a rapproachment between the Vatican’ and Moscow, leading to an exchange of diplomats in time to exert a world-wide influence against the Axis.
