STRONG FOOTHOLD
GAINED ON COAST WEST OF LENINGRAD BEHIND ENEMY LINES. ACHIEVEMENT OF RUSSIAN MARINES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 3. The Moscow radio stated that Russian marines landed on the German-occupied coast of the Gulf of Finland west of Leningrad yesterday and have gained a strong foothold after fierce and constant fighting.
