Mrs W. R. Birch, “Hapua,” Taueru, is visiting Hawke’s Bay. Mrs C. Monro, King Edward Street, Lansdowne, is staying with her sister, Mrs F. Perry, Martinborough.

Miss Annette McLaren, Roberts Road, Lansdowne, is staying with Mrs Cunningham, Auckland (formerly of Masterton).

Mrs A. Gruschow, of Perry Street, Masterton, will celebrate her eightytifth birthday tomorrow. Mrs Gruschow has been a resident of Masterton for many years and despite her years enjoys comparatively good health.

At a recent meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society, Mrs A. F. Stewart (commandant), Mrs G. S. Sharp (Featherston) and Mrs N. S. Sinclair (Pahiatua) were appointed' delegates to the North Island Voluntary Aid Committee meeting to be held at Palmerston North on October 11.
