GANGSTER GUNS
CARGO FROM UNITED STATES FOR DEFENCE OF BRITAIN. WEAPONS THAT WERE MADE IN GERMANY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) r NEW YORK, October 2. The strahgest cargo from the United States to Britain, under the Lend-Lease Act, consisting of saw-ed-off shotguns and machine-guns seized by the Government from gangsters, is being prepared for shipment, reports the l ‘World Telegram’s” Washington pondent.This gangland artillery is being supplied for the British civilian defence forces and thus, if invasion Comes to England, the invaders may be met with weapons made in Germany, as the collection includes some of the finest German Mauser and Luger revolvers. An official source stated that many of the guns had been associated with some of the biggest front page crimes of recent years.
