DESIRE TO AVOID WAR WITH BRITAIN. HOPES OF EARLY TERMINATION OF HOSTILITIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) STOCKHOLM, October 1. “Finland’s responsible political leaders cannot neglect to test every possibility of a satisfactory peace whenever it exists,” says the Helsinki newspaper “Afbttdrbladet.” “It is' obvious that Finland does not desire an extension of the conflict. An AngloFinnish war should be avoided if possible. ft is difficult to believe that Bfithih would eiigage in hostilities against Finland. We are formally at war with Britain’s ally, but for Finland this war will soon be over.”
