ATTACKED OFF COAST OF NORWAY LARGEST SHIP STRUCK BY TORPEDO. FIGHTERS DAMAGE SHIP NEAR CHERBOURG. LONDON. September 30. A’ heavily-guarded German convoy off the south coast of Norway was attacked this afternoon by the R.A.F. A torpedo hit the largest ship. Spitfires and Hurricanes also attacked two enemy merchant vessels near Cherbourg. One was damaged and set on fire. One British fighter is missing.
