In a match for the world heavyweight boxing championship tonight Joe Louis (14.G1) beat Lou Nova (14.6 J by a technical knockout in the sixth round. After five rounds of deliberate stalking, Louis exploded a straight right like a grenade on Nova’s chin in the sixth that blasted the challenger’s dreams and made him ready for the technical knockout that came one second before the end of the round. Nova collapsed half-way through the ropes but rose at the count of nine. Louis went after him and battered him from corner to corner till the referee intervened.
