MISSING SOLDIERS
NOTIFYING RELATIVES NEW ARRANGEMENTS MADE. IN ORDER TO REDUCE DELAYS. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Advice has been received in Wellington that to reduce delays in receiving advice of the whereabouts of sol-, diers previously reported missing, the Government has now made arrangements with the International Red. Cross, Geneva, for information to be sent by cablegram direct to New Zealand as well as to Cairo, as soon as it becomes available. Hitherto advice has come through the base records office in Cairo. Immediately advice is received from Geneva, next-of-kin in New Zealand will be informed by telegram. It is stated that till the new system is well established it may still be possible for instances to occur of relatives receiving private advice before the official announcement is available, but this is not expected if the arrangements are adhered to.
