VICEREGAL VISIT
THEIR EXCELLENCIES EXPRESS APPRECIATION. ARRANGEMENTS AND WELCOME. A communication has been received by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, from the Governor-General’s military secretary. Wing Commander H. C. Bevan, expressing to Mr Jordan and to those associated with him, the warmest appreciation of their Excellencies, Sir Cyril Newall and Lady Newall, of the excellent arrangements which were made in connection with their visit to Masterton. Their Excellencies, it was stated, were deeply sensible of the very cordial welcome which was accorded to them and of the friendliness of the people of Masterton and wished to state that they thoroughly enjoyed their all-too-brief visit to Masterton. Mr Jordan also wishes to thank the public for the splendid welcome it gave to the Governor-General and Lady Newall and to thank especially the headmasters of the various schools for their assistance in putting on such an excellent turnout in the Park.
