FOXTON MEETING
CHIEF EVENT TO PIASTRE. A WIN FOR PAY ROLL. I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FOXTON, September 29. Good racing and some keen finishes were features of the spring meeting of the Foxton Racing Club, held on the Levin course on Saturday.' It was another good day for leading trainer T. R. George, who scored three wins and a second, including the two principal fiat races, the Carnarvon and Robinson Handicaps, with Piastre and Pay Roll respectively. P. Burgess and D. W. Redstone each rode two winners. The public generally were well on the mark in their selections, but the local horse Hikorangi brought off a great surprise in the apprentice riders’ race. The weather was showery early, but cleared. However, the westerly wino was very cold all day. The track was in excellent order, but the going was ‘ very soft and dead. The totalisator return was £21,730 10s, an increase of £374 on last year. Results: — Trial Stakes, weight 8.5, with penalties, 6f.: 1/2, Croupisino, carried 9.0 (P. Burgess), 1; 2/1, Elusory (H. P.
