LOSS OF CHANGSHA
ADMITTED BY CHINESE BUT RIVER CROSSINGS RECAPTURED. MAKING JAPANESE POSITION PRECARIOUS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) CHUNGKING. September 28. The Chinese admit the loss of Changsha, the capital of Hunan. A military spokesman said the Chinese mid recaptured three crossings of the Mila River, while other forces were attacking Japanese supply lines, thus rendering the Japanese situation near Changsha precarious.
