ENEMY TARGETS ATTACKED IN FRANCE SWEEP OVER OCCUPIED AREAS. ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUN SILENCED. LONDON, September 28. Enemy targets in France were attacked by R.A.F. fighters in an offensive patrol today, over occupied France. Troops, a supply train, aircraft on the ground, a machine gun base, and an anti-aircraft gun were attacked, the last-named being silenced. Two petrol wagons were set on fire. An Air Ministry communique says: — “Though unfavourable weather continued to hamper operations, aircraft of the Bomber Command attacked objectives at Cologne and elsewhere in Western Germany last night.
