COSY THEATRE
“WHEN THE DALTONS RODE.” Action from start to finish marks Universal’s new picture of frontier warfare, “When the Daltons Rode,” which will be shown tonight at the Cosy Theatre, with Randolph Scott and Kay Francis in the leading roles. The Dalton gang comes spectacularly to life in this screen version of the book of the same name by Emmett Dalton and Jack Jungmeyer Junr. The mingling of excitement and comedy makes it particularly satisfying entertainment. Heading the cast is the versatile Randolph Scott in an excellent portrayal of the frontier lawyer who befriends the Daltons. No less outstanding is the performance of Kay Francis in her first “outdoor” role as the winsome telegraph operator of Coffeyville, centre of the Dalton gang s exploits. The Daltons, whose careers from ranch men to desperadoes are traced' in the picture, are expertly portrayed by Brian Donlevy, Broderick Crawford, Stuart Erwin and Frank Albertson. Andy Devine, in the role of the Dalton's girl-chasing ranch hand, also gives an impressive performance. The associate feature is the musical comedy, “Ma He’s Making Eyes at Me,’ featuring Constance Moore and Tom Brown.
