The Waiohine and • Maungaterere rivers overflowed their banks, and water to a considerable depth rushed across the main highway near the Waiohine Bridge. At Swamp Road water feet deep flooded the roadway and adjoining paddocks. It was quite impossible for settlers to get to their homes from the main highway and they had to make the journey through Belvedere and the back road's of Dalefield and Matarawa to reach home. At Dalefield the water crossed., the road near the railway line owing to flooding in the Maungaterere, Hinaki and Kaipataugata streams. No loss of stock is reported.
