OVER £41,000 DISTRIBUTED. Advice has been received that the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association had completed its advance payment on all calves collected from its 64 associated Pools to August 31. Over 20,000 individual payments had been made, aggregating a total of over £41,000. The minimum advance payment rate on all but underweight calves was 5s as at farm gate, while on underweight or skinner calves an advance payment of 2s was made. Up to the end of August the association’s total. New Zealand collections amounted to 175,000, being 8,500 greater than for the corresponding period last year. The final payment on these calves, together with the total payment on all calves collected to November 30, will be made as soon thereafter as possible, when the differential payment as between skinners, light and heavy calves for the season will be reflected.
