The British Embassy announced that the Duke of Windsor will confer with the Secretary of State, Mr Hull, the War Secretary, Mr Stimson, the Navy Under-Secretary, Mr Forrestal, and the chairman of the Maritime Commission, Admiral Land, during his 30-hour stay in Washington. The White House announced that President and Mrs Roosevelt have postponed their luncheon for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor on September 25 because of the illness of Mrs Roosevelt’s brother. It is understood that the luncheon will be held when the Duke and Duchess are returning from Canada.
