REGENT THEATRE

“WASHINGTON MELODRAMA." ‘■Washington Melodrama," will be finally shown tonight. “BUCK PRIVATES.” The change of programme tomorrow will be headed by “Buck Privates.” If army camp life is just a fraction as enjoyable as “Buck Privates. it is really a home away from home. Abbott and Costello are a couple of misfit kids in khaki in the army of “Buck Privates" and everything happens to them from K.P. duty to “solitary in the guard-house, with Nat Pendleton their nemesis in the role of. a hardboiled sergeant. There is a nice thread of romance, too, in the picture, over the affections of a pretty hostess, enacted by Jane Frazee. Incidentally. Miss Frazee, who has made only one picture before this one, exhibits the most pleasing sort of personality. Lee Bowman and Alan Curtis also f a *J e leading roles. The new songs include “You're a Fellow. Mr Smith," “Bounce Me. Brother With a Solid Four/’ “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy, “When Private Brown Becomes a Captain” and “I Wish You Were Here." On the same programme is the newsreel showing the first motion picture scenes of the Churchill-Roosevelt meeting in the Atlantic.
