A statement by the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, on the Government’s obligations under the United States Lease-Lend Act and the commercial procedure under it, a reference by the Prime Minister Mr Fraser, to the importance of the ’forthcoming conference of the 1.L.0. in New York, and tributes to the services of the late Mr David Jones, a former Minister of Agriculture were the principal business of the House of Representatives day. The House met at 2.30 p.m. and adjourned as a mark of respect to the deceased legislator at 3.50 o’clock till 2.30 p.m. today.
