GLADIOLI

NOT HARD TO GROW. Culturally, gladioli in a garden offer no difficulties. Given a well-drained soil, in which they are assured of a reasonable supply of nutriment, they ask for- only an occasional watering during dry spells and staking. When planting for cutting, beds and borders in any sunny position can be utilised, but the value of the plants in the herbaceous border should not be overlooked. Clumps of from six to 12 corms will make a brilliant splash of colour.
