THE MANURE PROBLEM

WHAT TO USE. Many, without doubt, have had to use a good deal less manure than they would wish. It will be a great help to plants if they are given- a dressing ol some quick-acting nourishment. Materials which may be used are blood and bone, fish manures, pulverised poultry manures, or one or other of the commercial compound fertilisers with an organic base and also such familiar substances as old soot or a good brand of guano. Use only a light dusting between now and the time of sowing seeds, raking or hoeing into the soil. Further dressings can be applied later.
