SHOP DAY

COUNTRY DISTRICTS RED CROSS. GOOD BUSINESS RECORDED. Brisk business was recorded today by the Country Districts Red Cross Cub-Centre at a shop day held in premises recently occupied by Kenners Ltd., Queen Street, Masterton. The well-laden stalls, containing flowers, meat, cakes, sweets, home industries, produce, etc., were the scene of much activity and a ready sale was found for the various goods. A spinning wheel, exhibited in the window,, was the centre or much interest, now that war demands have revived the use of home crafts. A poster competition resulted: Seniors, Miss Dorothy Gawith, 1; Mrs Peter Andrew, 2. Juniors: K. Teeboon ana J. Chamberlain, equal, 2. Under the able direction of the president, Mrs A. C. Gawith and the secretary. Miss Rutherford, many willing workers contributed to the success of the shop day.
