MARITIME STRIKE

INTERNATIONAL UNION THREAT IN UNITED STATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright') NEW YORK, September 22. The Seafarers’ International Union has replied to the Government’s seizure of the three strike-bound ships by declaring that it will order a strike of the whole 20,000 men forming its membership, if the Government repeats the seizures. Nineteen ships are already involved in the strike, but the union’s threat would involve the dislocation of 25 east coast shipping companies engaged in foreign and domestic services.
