NAZI AIR LOSSES
TOTAL OF 8,500 PLANES. DESTROYED ON EASTERN FRONT. LONDON, September 21. Last night’s Moscow communique states that the German air force has lost a total of 8500 machines destroyed in air battles by antiaircraft fire or on the ground on the Eastern front. Throughout yesterday the Russian air force struck heavy blows at enemy troop concentrations, supply columns, air fields and pontoon bridges.
