NEV/ ZEALANDERS & OTHERS IN AUSTRALIA. TOTAL OF ABOUT 400. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) SYDNEY, September 18. The report from Wellington that 600 New Zealanders are stranded here owing to lack of shipping was referred to Mr W. Taylor, of the New Zealand Government Tourist and Trade Bureau, who said that those held up In Australia were not all New Zealanders. Some were people from the East on leave who wanted to spend some time in New Zealand. He gave his opinion that the number stranded was more like 400 and pointed out that those who were short of cash, but who had funds in New Zealand, were able to make arrangements through the Reserve Bank in New Zealand for their relief.
