“SEA OTTERS”
NEW TYPE MERCHANT SHIPS QUICK MASS PRODUCTION PLANS. GOVERNMENT CORPORATION BEING FORMED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) WASHINGTON, September 19. The Navy Department has announced that a Government corporation is being formed for mass production of the new “Sea Otters.” The ships can be delivered to the Lend and Lease Agency, for' transfer to Britain and her allies, as quickly as they are built. The company’s board of directors includes Colonel Knox and Rear-Admiral Land. All stock will be owned, by the Reconstruction of Finance Corporation.
