AGAINST FUTURE IMPORTS. GRANTED IN UNITED STATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, September 17. The Controller of the Import-Export Bank, Mr Jesse Jones, announced that the United States Government would provide 100,000,000 dollars for Russia to purchase war materials in the United States. This credit is not regarded as a loan but as advance payment in respect of the future importation of platinum, magnesium and chromite from Russia. Mr Jones has already given 10,000,000 dollars in credits to Russia and expects to give a further 40,000,000 within a few weeks to permit the purchase of warplanes, machine tools, etc.
