STRONG PROTEST

: e AGAINST COERCION OF DOCTORS. MADE BY AUCKLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. September 18. A strong protest was made by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce against the Government’s attitude to the Social Security Amendment Bill. A motion was passed placing on record a strong protest at the coercive terms of the Bill and supporting the request of the B.M.C. president for consideration, by a fully-competent body, of the issues aT stake. The president, Mr L. A. Eady, said they could not protest too ’strongly against the further attempted breach in demoncratic .freedom that the Bill reveoled. If they did not protest now he considered they would deserve the chains of national regimentation and compulsion which were being forged link by link.
