MASTERTON CLUB enjoyable social gathering. COMPETITION WINNERS. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club’s annual “wind up” social gathering held in the Foresters’ Hall, Masterton, last night, was as usual, enjoyable and well conducted. The president, Mr J. Fenton, presided over a large attendance of members. The championship singles final was played between C. Pickering an,d McFarlane. In an interesting match Pickering beat his opponent 17-11. His win was a particularly popular one. In the final of the colts singles E. Mooney beat A. Gray 26-10. Mooney was well on his game and the result was never in doubt. Trophies were presented as follows: — Rinks: Messrs V. Stears, E. Mooney, A. Henson, W. Hendry (s). Pairs: Messrs S. Morgan and W. Edwards. Championship singles: Mr C. Pickering. Colts singles: Mr E. Mooney. Trade teams competition winners (builders): Messrs F. Stains (s), W. Edwards, E. Mooney and L. Spackman. A number of toasts were honoured. Votes of thanks were accorded the secretary, Mr C. Leigh for his splendid work in the interests of the club, and to the Foresters’ Lodge.
