A succession of explosions sank two Swedish destroyers and seriously damaged another at an anchorage south of Stockholm. The destroyers were Goteborg, Klashorn and Klassugla. Following on the explosions, which the “Aftonbladet” states were caused by a mishap with a torpedo, fires developed and ammunition exploded on all three ships. It is officially stated that 31 men were killed and eleven injured. The rescuers were hampered by flaming oil.
