Gold produced from Canadian ores in 1940 reached the all-time high of 5,311,145 fine ounces valued at 20,447,908 dollars (app. £(NZ)5,700,000), an increase over the preceding year of 4.25 per cent in quantity and 11.05 per cent in value.
