CARTERTON
METHODIST CHURCH SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK. (“Times-Age” Special.) Good business was done at the Methodist sale of work held in the bandroom, Holloway Street, yesterday, and as a result almost a total clearance was made of produce, flowers etc., at the various stalls, while the afternoon tea was well patronised. The ladies who conducted the sale of work are to be congratulated on their excellen effort The beautiful daffodils generously given by Mr and Mrs W. Henry Booth, “Middle Run,” found a ready sale.
BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED GATHERING AT CLAREVILLE. The Clareville Hall was crowded last evening when the residents of Clareville and district tendered a pare evening” to Miss Coral Wadham cn the eve of her marriage. The gathering was well organised and was very en Dancin e g was indulged in to excellent music supplied by Mr Tom U y s Orchestra. Mr K. H. Reid was an efficient M.C. A much appreciated ex Ha was played by Mr H. Morris (piano accordeon). . A Monte Carlo waltz was won b, Miss Quinn and Mr T. McKenzie. A bird competition was won by Mi K. Wadham, and a competition 101 children by Master Tui Daysh . Mr H. J. McKenzie, on behalf of th residents of - the district, asked Miss ■Wadham to accept and open the many parcels, which she did amid enthuSi Si?pper was provided by the ladies of the district. Personal Items. Mrs R. T. Forbes left this morning en route’to Te Aroha to join her husband who recently took over the management of the picture theatre in that town. -
