CANTERBURY MARKETS. LITTLE BUSINESS REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 12. Reports from Wellington that the first consignment of Australian potatoes brought in by the Government will land in Auckland within a few days, and at Wellington later, and that they will be distributed through ordinary channels, have had the effect here of stopping almost all business. Very few transactions wore made this week, and prices at £9 10s for Dakotas and £lO 10s for Suttons are nominal. Other markets are very quiet.
