BOWLING

4 MASTERTON PARK CLUB.. WORK ON THE GREEN. During the past few weeks working bees of committeemen have been very active at the Masterton Park Club's green and much valuable work has been done in an endeavour to have the green and its surroundings in first class order for the coming season. The bank on the lakeside has been widened and this will be greatly appreciated by the bowlers. The score-boards have been resurfaced and renumbered. The spring top-dressing of the greens has been completed and already there is a splendid growth of grass. There is every indication that the playing surface will be as good, if not better, than that of last season. The official opening of the green will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11.
