REMOVAL OF TONSILS
AND INFANTILE PARALYSIS DANGER. STATEMENT BY AMERICAN DOCTOR. CHICAGO, September 10. Dr. Morris Fishbein, editor of the journal of the American Medical Association, announced that five children at Cleveland contracted infantile paralysis after removal of their tonsils, and three of them have died. Dr. Fishbein warned that tonsil operations are inadvisable at a time of infantile paralysis epidemics. It is now well established that the infantile paralysis virus may enter the exposed nerveendings in the throat
