MAGISTRATE’S COURT

SITTING IN MASTERTON TODAY. TRAFFIC OFFENDERS FINED. The fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held this morning. Mr H. P. Lawry. S.M., was on the Bench. . ’ Ronald Pratt was fined 10s, with 10s costs for having operated an unlicensed radio set. The Borough Traffic Inspector. Mr J. McGregor, prosecuted in the following cases: John Samuel Tozer, fined £l, with 10s costs, on a charge of having driven a motor vehicle without headlamps. On a second charge of not having a tail light on the vehicle Jozei was fined 10s, with 10s costs. Walter Greenland, was fined £2, with 10s costs for having ridden a cycle without a light. Mr McGregor said it was Greenland’s second offence. J. J- Savage was lined 10s, with 12s costs for having operated a trailer in Queen Street without a tail lamp. Civil Business. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil claims: — Hallenstein Bros. Ltd. v Fanny Ruth Rollings, claim 9s 6d. costs 13s; Wairarapa Radios Ltd. v W. A. Carter, claim £4 7s 4d, costs £1 3s 6d: Donald James Cameron, Donald Cameron and Robert McKenzie v John Thomas Maycbck, claim £193 Ils 4d, costs £8 19s 6d.
