THEFT OF CLOCK

MAGISTRATE GRANTS PROBATION “If I allow the fact of this man’s lapse to go abroad, the beneficial straightening effects of probation will be lost,” observed Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning when a young married man appeared before him on a charge of having stolen a clock. Mr Lawny admitted the accused to probation for a period of 18 months and made an order suppressing his name. Mr S. V. Gooding appeared for the accused and entered a plea of guilty.
