RETURNING TO RUSSIA LI EUT.-COLONEL MONKHOUSE. TRIED & EXPELLED IN 1933. (Received This Dayy, Noon.) LONDON, September 9. Lieutenant Colonel Allan Monkhouse, former chief engineer of Vickers’ enterprises in Russia, who was tried in Moscow in 1933 on charges of sabotage and later expelled, is reported to be returning to Moscow, as one of Lord Beaverbrook’s assistants, for the forthcoming Three Power Conference. It is understood that the Soviet Government expressed its willingness to ■ agree to Lieut. Colonel Monkhouse’s return. Lieut.-Colonel Monkhouse speaks fluent Russian and has always remained an admirer of much, of the Soviet’s achievements.
