REVOLT IN POLAND
SERIOUSNESS ADMITTED BY GERMANS BATTLES WITH GUERILLAS . & PEASANTS. RAILWAY STATIONS & STORES GUARDED. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, September 7. Polish resistance to Germany has flared into pitched battles between Naii troops and Polish guerillas and peasants. The Moscow radio states that this is reported in German newspapers, which admit the seriousness of the revolt which is spreading through Poland. The Moscow radio added that at one place, where German police failed to Quell a three-day revolt, army regulars were sent to aid the police. The Germans have increased their guards on all railways stations, grain warehouses and bridges. In retaliation, for the seizure of foodstuffs by the Germans, angry peasants began a campaign of blowing up railway lines and destroying grain depots.
