APPLE GRIDDLE CAKES

SOMETHING GOOD FOR BREAKFAST. Cream 1 level tablespoon butter with 1 level tablespoon sugar; add 2 wellbeaten eggs and beat well. Sift 1 level cup plain flour, i cup No. 1 wheatmeal, i level teaspoon ground cinnamon, 14 level teaspopns baking powder, a good pinch salt. Add this to butter mixture with 1£ cups finely chopped apple and enough milk to form a soft batter (the same consistency as ordinary griddle cakes'). Bake on a hot greased griddle or thick frying pan until browned and cooked underneath, then turn and brown the other side. Dish up and sprinkle with icing sugar.
