The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall hope to visit Hawke’s Bay during the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society’s spring show on October 22 and 23. Messrs R. J. T. Scott and R. D. McGregor have been elected to the board of managers of St. Andrew’s Church Pongaroa. Mr Elijah Tramblin. who had been a resident of the Wanganui district | for more than 60 years, died on Thursday in his 90th year. Mr C. S. Dalgliesh, Fields Instructor for the Department of Agriculture at Rotorua, has retired after 40 years’ service. His successor is Mr C. R. Taylor (Whakatane). The wedding took place in Wellington recently of Nola Southgate, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Dean Whangarei, to Raymond Francis, second son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Clarke Cole Street, Masterton.
