The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to strong but decreasing southerly winds. Weather cold, with further showers, but improving. A possibility of frosts tonight. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Northerly winds; fair to cloudy. LOCAL REPORTS. Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 29.68; shade temperature, maximum 50. minimum 44.4; terrestrial, 38.8; sunshine, nil; rain. -4G points. Miss Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: Barograph. 30-17; shade temperature, maximum 50.6. minimum 42.7; terrestrial, 41; sunshine, 25 minutes; rain, 35 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that; 52 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday and 45 points for a similar period today.
