being quietly developed BY U.S.A. ACCORDING TO COLUMNISTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) NEW YORK, September 5. The New York “Daily Mii’ror” columnists, Messrs Pearson and Allen, revealed that the United States is quietly building strategic bafees on the African coast to guard against the Nazi air putsch from Dakar to South America. The bases include aerodromes at Freetown, capital of the British colony of Sierra Leone, arid in the Negro Republic of Liberia, the last of which will be equipped to handle both aeroplanes and submarines.
