4 EQUIPPED WITH AMERICAN GADGETS. . INSTRUCTOR'S DISCLOSURES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 4. The Messerschmitt, flown to Scotland by Hess, was equipped with many American “gadgets,” according to Mr Donald Dunning, who has returned from Britain, where he has been an instructor to the R.A.F. on Lockheed bombers. Mr Dunning said that, on examination of the Messerschmitt, he was amazed to find that its tyres bore the name of a United States manufacturer, its fuel tank called for American 100 octane aviation spirit and a popular brand of American lubricant was specified above the oil intake valve.
