RUSSIAN EXPEDITION GOING TO SOUTH-WEST ASIA. IN SPITE OF THE WAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) MOSCOW, September 4. Despite the war an expedition, led by Professor Kihailov, is leaving Moscow for south-west Asia, to observe the eclipse of the sun on September 21. Observations will be made also from auxiliary posts at Kiev and elsewhere.

Our losses were 27 planes. “Soviet airmen are continuing successfully to intercept the enemy air force on the approaches to Leningrad. Seventy enemy planes attempted to attack a large aerodrome under cover of clouds, and they were met by a Soviet squadron, which shot down 11 in aerial combat.
