Mrs Florence Coombes, bombed out of Southampton and living in a nearby village, saw at a dance a woman wearing a frock and coat which she recognised as her daughter’s. Later Richard William Daniel, 29, was at Southampton fined £25, or three months, for stealing the clothes. His wife was wearing them.
