BROAD PRINCIPLES
SETTLEMENT WITH IRAN AGREEMENT REPORTED. RUSSIAN ADVANCE HALTED. LONDON, September 2. Britain, Russia and Iran have agreed to the broad principles of a settlement. Russian troops, it is reported, have been ordered to make no further advance. There is no confirmation of a report that armistice terms have been signed. DETAILS OUTSTANDING •1 DISPOSAL OF THE GERMAN LEGATION STAFF. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, September 2. There is no confirmation in London of a report from Ankara that Iranian armistice terms have been signed, but an agreement has now been reached upon broad principles, which have been under the consideration of the British and Soviet Ministers, the Iranian Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister at Teheran during the past few days. Many details still remain to be worked out, including the question of the disposition of the personnel of the German Legation in Iran.
