RUSSIAN SHIPS
FOUR MORE EXPECTED IN AUSTRALIA. SIR E. PAGE ON TRADE OUTLOOK. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Four made Russian ships are to arrive in Australian ports soon to load food and ore for Russia. The Minister of Commerce (Sir E. Page), who announced this, said that hopes of getting more ships on the Australia, America, England run were brighter. “As the rate of sinkings in the Atlantic decreases, our chances of getting more ships improve.” Sir E. Page said. By co-operating with .America, Australia could overcome the restriction policy forced on her earlier by lack of dollars, He did not elaborate this statement, but it is understood to be based on the Lend or Lease Act and new trade relations with the United States.
