ENEMY GUNS
ACTIVE AT TOBRUK ABORTIVE DIVE-BOMBING ATTACKS. AXIS WORKING PARTY SHELLED ON FRONTIER. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) RUGBY, August 29. A Cairo headquarters communique states: “At Tobruk the enemy artillery has been active and there were several dive-bombing attacks during the day, but no damage resulted. Our own artillery successfully engaged a large enemy working party. - “In the frontier area, there was some exchange of artillery tire. “At Jarabub, enemy aircraft dropped bombs, causing slight damage to a Senussi mosque there.”
