COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. GOOD ENTRIES RECEIVED. The Wairarapa Coursing Club’s meeting to be held at Akura on Saturday has drawn good fields. A full list of 16 maiden class dogs will compete in the event for the W. Williams trophy. Dogs from Dannevirke, Wellington, Hastings, Napier and a good representation from the local district should make for some interesting coursing. The Cooper Cup has eleven dogs entered, with probably the pick of the various districts represented. The North Island Cup winner, Loch Lomond, as well as the runner-up. The Admiral, are contestants. Julius Caesar, winner on the last two occasions at Akura, should be a worthy opponent in the contest.
